I am Sarah Talbot and I can create a completely new and fresh design for your garden or re-design small areas that perhaps, have never quite worked for you. I advise on pruning techniques, plant care and trained at the English Gardening School in Chelsea and Kingston Maurward Horticultural College.
Gardens are glorious! They invigorate and inspire us; they provide peace and tranquillity, they should always be enjoyed and never a burden. It’s about achieving a garden that is right for you and enhances your way of life. They evolve just as humans do; yesterday’s sand-pit may become tomorrow’s reflective pool and today’s shrubbery part of your grand-children’s den – perhaps a tree house too!
To be creative there must be passion and a good understanding between designer and client; I take the time to discover what you are really looking for. Once a project is finished I keep in touch and clients know they can ring me if they have a query, or need some advice – it’s all part of a very personal service and attention to detail.
Testimonials
“Sarah did a re-design for us on part of the garden about seven years ago and she has been popping back ever since. We love the garden and with a seasonal sort-out and an up-date from her every now and then, we can manage it ourselves. Sarah is very personable and 100% reliable. She works so hard in all weathers and now the soil has been improved the plants don’t die as they used to, but we still joke about any new ones being “Hilary proof”!”

“We were concerned that we were unable to cope with our garden but now, with Sarah’s continued help, it’s looking fantastic and we love it. As well as improving the overall appearance, she removed some large, old shrubs and altered the shape of the main boarder before replanting, and it has been a transformation. We can now enjoy our garden and not just work in it.”

Cost – we all have budget constraints, they just vary in amount. I strive to save you money where possible and advise where it will be best spent.
Frequently a design is created with all the client desires and then, with the help of a creative landscaper, we look at how to spread the cost by phasing the construction – a beautiful York-paved terrace may start life as a gravelled area, or an elegant sweep of stone steps may begin as simple grass steps retained with timber.
Do call me, an initial meeting to discuss the garden’s potential is without charge.
